Conference Board
Term, 1 year (by appointment). As provided for in Chapter 441.2 of the 1999 Code of Iowa, each county shall establish a Conference Board, which shall consist of the Board of Supervisors, the Mayors of all cities in the county, and a representative (who is a resident of the county) from the Board of Directors of each high school district in the county, each group having one vote, with the Chairman of the Board of Supervisors serving as Chairman of the Conference Board. In any action taken by the Conference Board, the Mayors shall constitute one voting unit, the school district representatives shall constitute one voting unit, and the Board of Supervisors shall constitute one voting unit. The Conference Board appoints the County Assessor (for a 6 year term) and the members of the Board of Review, which shall be a 5-member board with 1 member who shall be a licensed real estate broker, 1 member a registered architect or experienced in the building trade or construction field, and 1 member shall be a farmer. Also, each voting unit of the County Conference Board shall appoint a member to the County Examining Board.
